[Logged] CMO closes unexpectedly

Post by RafaleKiwi »

Hi Firstly I'd like to congratulate the team on the release of CMO, very impressed that the CMANO add ons work out of the box. Also a shout out to Matrix for 50% discount - means I can afford Tacview.

Now a question that I think I already know the answer too, but would like confirmation.

When running CMO I've tried creeping death out of silent service, and on four different occasions CMO just closes.

I suspect it is because I'm running an older machine, but task manager doesn't say anything is maxing out before the crash. DXDIAG shows no errors either with the GFX or Sound.

i7 - 2700K CPU@350Ghz (Quad Core), 16GB RAM, Win 10 64 Bit, GTX 658 and GTX 580

Any thoughts?

In the Command folder, the is a folder 'Logs'. There should be a log 'ExceptionLog.txt' which may record any errors.

Gidday Micheal,

Thanks for the pointer, didn't know that was there.

The Exception doesn't show anything; the last four entries are:

Calling MainForm_Shown: Show window.

Closed splash screen.

Showed Start Game window.

Finished MainForm_Shown.

I've tried again and observed that the game closes on the special action.

Just noted there is an update already - so will download that first - Update v1.00.11156.

Cheers Paul

Thanks got the update.

Unfortunately it is still CTD on this particular scenario. Exception still shows nothing.

I've run a few tutes okay without CTD.

Will play around with it more and report back. Thanks for the support.

I have had this CTD, I am playing Lone Wolf.. it sometimes happens when I'm on the special actions menu when I click something, the computer thinks for about 2 second then it dumps me out of the game with no message...

I also have an older machine, an AMD Tri-Core 3.2ghz,8GB ram and a GTX1050 2GB, above minimum but just under recommend... I've tried other scenarios without special orders and the game runs pretty good for me with no crashes...

I will grab the new patch, play for a while and report back...

Hi

After a week of testing and going through perhaps 10 different scenarios the CTD only seems to occur on "Special Actions".

I've upgraded to Build 1115.8

I with the save game I raised Sat Antenna and CTD occurs after no other action apart from loading of that scenario. I can play though a few hour hours of game time no problems, but as soon as I open special actions click it, a few seconds later CTD.

Regards Paul

+1 for me. Special actions cause CTD about 1 time out of 5, for no apparent reason. Tested with the Wolf's call scenario (sonar button).

I have had the same problem with both the Lone Wolf and Creeping Death scenarios. When I run the Special Actions (VLF comms) the program suddenly closes upon resuming the simulation.

Edit: It also happens for the Game Changer scenario when selecting the Special Action for picking which sub to play.

The 'exception log' lists 4 'invalid data type' and 2 'Nullable object must have a value' errors.
