Hold/Defend button question.

Post by VonWulfen »

I don't seem to be able to find this in the manual.
How exactly does this work?
Should units that are going to be dug in along a defensive line be set to defend or hold?

Defend is the default setting and is what I generally use. If set at Hold a unit will take two retreat checks instead of one but will take an additional 33% combat damage. So if it is a hexagon that is critical to your strategy and worth gutting a unit then Hold might be appropriate. Hold is probably an exception for emergency situations. At least that is how I have used Hold.
