1246 patch damages my game

After I install the 1145 update I go to update the 1246 and it gets to the last file..then says it cant open something called sm.exe
Then It says AA cant open the game because it isnt installed right

I got the patch off the drop zone...maybe its corrupted?

Okay, here is what I remember about AA patches.

Every file must match perfectly, even if they are not being modified. (I realized this as I had removed some UI WAV files I didn't like. So, I had to put them back before the patch would work.)

SM.EXE should be the Scene Maker application ... in order words, the scenario editor. It's not the game. So, you don't really need it.

Here is my advice to you. Uninstall the game. Then, reinstall. Then, immediately patch. See how that goes.

Other things to try ...

I don't know if the first patch is required to install the second. So, you might just go fromt the CD to the second patch.

You might also try a reboot after installing the first patch. Depending on how things are run, files can get locked and be unable to be deleted.

What is your original version number. it appears in the bottom right of the game screen. Did you buy a CDV copy from Europe. If so this is already fully patched to build #46. If you do not have a CDV version, then check the build #.

I got it from Battlefront a few weeks after it came out


I know my problem

I did not install the Scenmaker
And when I went to install the patches...it could not find my scenmaker files...and thus the patch failed damaged by game

But I reinstalled and my game and the patches work just fine now
