How long does it take to unzip for all of you.
Right now, looking at a 3-hour effort.
Yes, the Microsoft Lying Time Estimator said that for a little bit, then it finished tabulating what would need to be overwritten, and asked you to do so, and it was done in 30 seconds or so.

Can it be made available for Steam version? It's still not there, while beta 1115.8.1 is already made available in another thread... Is there any reason Steam version doesn't receive an update at the very moment it is published on the forum? As far as I can tell, Steam version cannot be easily patched manually with unofficial patch, I tried that, and Steam detected changes upon launch and re-downloaded and restored the original version. I see no way of preventing this by disabling updates (as suggested on this forum), the only option concerning updates are either auto-update whenever Steam detects a new version, or only when starting the game. There is no "off" setting, unless I'm missing something.

By the way, Steam has an option for opt-in for beta updates of games. This would be a nice way for distributing beta updates such as 1115.8.1 for those interested in trying them.

I've been getting a weird "bug" on the main menu. If I spend more then a few minutes on the start menu then I become unable to click on any of the buttons to start or load a scenario until the game is restarted.

Help me out. I downloaded 1115.7 from this forum and unzipped it to "CMO-MultiSetup-v1.00.11153" which is the folder that was set up when I installed the game. The upgrade did not take and the build remained at 1115.3. I was able to upgrade thru the game installer. Just tried the same thing for the 1115.8 download from this post, with same results. If its not "CMO-MultiSetup-v1 . . ." that I should unzip the download to, then what is this "installation folder" you refer to and where can I find it?

And a big thanks to you and all the devs. I've enjoyed CMANO since it came out and looking forward to CMO.
"installation folder" - is the folder your game is installed to.

The google drive link download above is to zipped file, one only needs to extract\copy what's in it to the folder where your game is installed overwriting existing files. So if you have 1115.3 installed and you unzip the contents of this patch to game folder overwriting what's there you should be up to date and have 1115.8.
Build 1115.8

Well the update to 1115.8 worked fine for me except for one Niggly bit, namely when running CMO it refuses
to acknowledge that it's running with the more upto date 1115.8 version and still shows its running on the
original 1115.3 install version.
Could there be an issue with whatever flags responsible for recognising new build versions; as I've tried
everything else, including rebooting my Laptop and starting CMO again but still flags 1115.3 even though
I know every file and program included in the update to 1115.8 had overwritten the existing CMO files and
programs. This issue being with Matrix CMO and not Steam CMO.

1) check that you don't have the game installed in two different folders

2) You can copy the update right into the Steam directory for CMO.

Right, but that is exactly what I did. I download the file to the folder where the game is and unzip and overwrite. My point is nothing gets updated.

Let me clarify my previous: The game said nothing had been updated, and was still running B1115.3. I did not verify that by checking it against the change log of fixes.

With me the update extracted and had overwritten the CMO folders and files successfully. There's no question
about that from me.
The only conclusion I can draw is there's a bug with CMO not identifying and updating the version number
which no doubt is down to Matrix Games to address.

Same here; the download and extraction proceeded nominally. I just did the same thing with 1115.8.1 and it seems to have fixed the ground unit pathfinder issue I experienced before, which is consistent with Dimitris' announcement in the first post above. However, the opening menu screen still says 1115.7 as does the "About Command" option under Help, so not sure what's going on.

Hi

Go to CMO game folder, find Command.exe file and check the date. Version B1115.8 date should be 22nd November and B1115.8.1 is 23rd of November. If file is older then you have failed to update. Possibly AV program has blocked it. I have had that issue with Norton.

Here is picture what it should look like if updating has been succesfull.

Upon further play, I'm not sure the pathfinding issue is fully resolved. Ground units still take weird paths when given a plotted course, but seem to move straight when moving to attack.

Thanks, I had issues with Norton too, but thought I had worked around. I'll try again.

Little random but I'm curious if it does not happen if you rename Installfolder\symbols\startmenu\global_loop.mp4 to something else before startup, so that that looping animation doesn't get used.

I have had Norton for a long time. It does not usually give problems when you use launchers update button (big patches). When you download these zip-files, extract and copy them to CMO folder is when Norton likes to quarintine/delete command.exe file. I have ordered manually Norton to release command.exe file. That i have done with CMANO for years, and same goes with CMO.

I dont know is that causing your problems or is it something else.

I changed my Norton to Windows Defender couple of days ago. I am not making any recommendations but with Norton it has not been just downloading, extracting and copying files and then starting to play with CMANO/CMO. Norton does not give that much problems with other games/programs but CMANO/CMO has something that Norton really does not like.

Curious why the delay between updates here and the update going on steam?

My best guess is Steam (and Matrix) require additional quality control on updates, so hotfixes are posted here before being pushed to Steam and the Matrix auto-updater.

As for the issue of not being able to install these hotfixes, I've never had an issue with either not being able to unzip the hotfix (I use McAfee as my primary anti-virus) or Steam re-installing its older version over the hotfix. The Steam launcher does list the older official version (I suspect it reads the version on Steam rather than the local command.exe file), but it does launch the hotfix version.

I use Windows Defender and have never had an issue with quarantining of exes. Also haven't had a single malware incident using defender. Of course, I am super-paranoid about links in emails too. That helps.

btw, these quick updates are "beta" updates. They are not final. They come out to help solve critical issues and give the devs some feedback on potential fixes. They will not come out on steam until they are ready for final release. Posting fixes to Steam is a pain. So the devs want to make sure the fixes are final before going to Steam.
