Question re "Suitable Weapons"

Post by redboot »

In this file, the SSN Gato is attempting to fire its Mk37B torpedo's at the target w/in range. They appear ready and operational in the F8 dialogue, but when I press Shift-F1, they don't appear as a suitable weapon. So I cannot fire. I can't figure this out. Can anyone explain why?

It looks like they are bearing launch only. Try Ctrl-F1.

I think that this problem is pretty simple to solve.

Your sub is listed as being about 3.36 nm away from the SURFACE target.

Your two Mk37 torpedoes have a range of 4 nm, BUT.....they are only good against other SUBS (not surface ships).

Your Mk14 has range or 3 nm, and is good against SURFACE SHIPS, but you aren't within range as of yet, and it isn't loaded.
