Beginners Guide to the Map Editor?

Post by Temple »

Is there a beginners guide to the map editor? I've fooled with it a bit but I'm not really sure of what I'm doing.... :D

I am starting to do that. What exactly would you like to know in the meantime?

The AI will not enter those hexes marked with the block AI flag.

Click on Height, then those G+-x are the Ground height definers (+-x is the deviation from standard height foor the hex type). Check the popup help for standard heights in Fill and hovering the mouse over the hex. The T+-x buttons are for Toppings (trees), same deal.
So if you want a plain to be -4m, choose G-4 and click the hex you want. If all buttons are selected, you can set a wide area with random heights. Same for toppings.

Currently you can't. The public version of the map editor doesn't allow editing events. This has already been explained by Larkin, by the time of the release the map editor wasn't user-friendly enough to be released.

Thorgrim, I really, really hope that your message is implying that there will be an updated release of the editor at some point that does have these features...
