How to compare this game to Strategic Command 2

Warplan is a World War 2 simulation engine. It is a balance of realism and playability incorporating the best from 50 years of World War 2 board wargaming.

How to compare this game to Strategic Command 2

Post by MrLongleg »

I have played many, many hours mostly PBEM of Strategic Command 2. If you played both games, where are the differences:

- what is better in WarPlan?
- what do you not like about the game?
- is it patched now so that a game can be played without major issues?

Thanks for your answers in advance

I don't have WarPlan yet, but after reading some of the manual and watching some Youtube videos I believe the naval mechanics are far superior in WarPlan. The SC naval mechanics feel like you are playing whack-a-mole which I find very unrealistic. The stacking in WarPlan also looks more realistic to me than the lack of stacking in the SC games. Take all that with a grain of salt as I don't own WarPlan yet.

I have SC WIE and War Plan …. I personally like War Plan far better … it has far more depth, much of which I'm just learning ….
