CMO Music

Post by DWReese »

I really love the new music in the CMO game.

I was wondering if any of you sound tech savvy people have created some of your own music files that could be added to the music list you might be will be willing to share.

Thanks

Just from a quick test it appears as if it'll play MP3s you drop in the Sound\Music folder. Seems you need at least one file named Title.mp3

The music track from the movie "Patton" sounds pretty interesting. It might make for some good background music.

I have a folder of instrumental music from various sources, including some from games, and I put some of that in that folder.

I've never been into that before, but I am impressed with the new music options, and it is certainly worth exploring.

Music only works for me in the best free software ever developed in history ... Orbiter.

Once you learned the mechanics you can put Dark Side of the Moon on and relax after a long day and watch the solar system go by.

Again ... Orbiter is the best free software ever developed in the history of gaming in my opinion. Command and Orbiter are similar in that they force the player to study and learn new concepts. I enjoy them both, but never needed streaming music in Command. Sound effects pertaining to tactical combat are fine ... but I always turn off background sound in all wargames I play.

There's an idea - I'm off to try Air on a G String with CMO...

The music in the CMO game is great and you want it to be a ringtone for your phone. We have lots of catchy music from all the latest game genres. Everyone can visit for more information and references, of course these are completely free [:D][:D][:D]

+1,
Love CMO's music
When play CMANO, I used to disable the background music , play the music from Heroes 3 and 4 instead. I won't do that anymore in CMO
Sir? Do you want to order a Kung Pao Chicken or a Kung Fu Chicken?

+1, Glad to see some fellow orbinauts here. Though, if your version of Orbiter still uses Air on a G-String, it is time to update both Orbiter itself and your sound module.

I also enjoy the CMO soundtrack and to me it sounds a lot like DCS in intensity, to the point that I wondered if they had the same author. To mix it up, I sometimes use the following soundtracks instead, which you could use if you also own the game:

CMANO Original-thumping violins

Falcon 4.0 and AF- Flight sim absolute classic, until one gets tired of listening to the Second Gulf of Sidra Engagement.

Eagle Day to Bombing the Reich- similar string themes to CMANO

Cold Waters has an excellent soundtrack, but I think you need to buy the soundtrack separately to access the music files. I was also a big fan of the Silent Hunter II (yes, II) soundtrack from back in the day; might have to dig that out sometime.

The boogabooga doctrine for CMO: Any intentional human intervention needs to be able to completely and reliably over-ride anything that the AI is doing at any time.
