Question: HQs

Post by mroyer »

Is there any advantage in calling for a Tactical Air Offensive or for Enabling Repair/Upgrade with an HQ versus just doing the missions/upgrade-requests individually, one at a time. Or, is it just an expedient to make it quicker to do?

Ok the air strike. (left button)

Say it's March 1944 and you have 20 air units in England. You want to start bombing the crap out of the Axis to drop their effectiveness for the D-Day invasion. You can click 80 times (once each unit, once each operation point, once each enemy)

OR

You can click the air strike and all enemies in command range of the HQ (regardless of tile) will get hit by all air units once. So if you have 1 UK HQ and 1 USA HQ you have 2 clicks and BAM all the Germans get nailed by all the aircraft using both operation points. You do that for 6 turns and their effectiveness will be lower when D-Day occurs.

So it is a convenience DIE NAZI SCUM button.

The 2nd and 3rd buttons set all units within the command radius of the HQ to reinforce off or reinforce on. One click instead of X number of units x2 clicks.

Okay... perfect - that's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a subtle feature.
