1-Is the timed play feature in Steel Panthers optional or not?
2-Does the game have a battle maker?

thanks

1. “Timed Play” is for playing vs the Al or Hotseat under time pressure, however this can be set between 15 ans 2700 seconds.
2. While not having a dedicated "single battle" generator, the game features several hundred scenarios, and a campaign generator
that can be used to create a battle (although the minimum number that can be set is 2) It also has an editor that can create your own scenarios.

#1 - Optional for Solitaire, not used for PBEM.
Timed play is used for the Hotseat and Online play.

#2 - Yup, you can either ask the game to create a battle for you or you can make your own battle using the editors provided.

Thanks! I hate to rush when playing against the AI. I am glad it is optional. I have been wanting to get this but in the past it was kind of overpriced. I know it has a lot of value and content. I am glad I waited.. till now.

Short answer is YES!

However, please take a look at this thread below yours, there is a patch needed to fix a few bugs.

There is also a new palette available, with much more natural colors. Ask if you're interested and I'll dig it up for you.

cheers

I have a question, I was wondering about the resolution. It says 800x600. I thought the General edition had a higher resolution? I know Shrapnel has the paid version of spww2 I believe a higher resolution. I have winking which has a decent resolution.

Thanks for any help.

Nope.

Me too.

Using DxWnd with a modern 'puter I've found that you can get a "bit" better resolution with a bi-linear filter, among some of its options. If you have a stupid-powerful machine there are some filters that look interesting, but they sure slow down my machine when I played around with them.

I'm planning on trying dgVooDoo2 with this game, it's read.me hints at wonderful things. I'm intrigued.

I dunno why TapaTalk does that at times.
I'll ask.

However, we can't wait to find out why.We have no time to lose!!!!
My Google Folder has a copy of the Patch, along with an updated Palette.LBM file. Just unzip the patch, then drop these in to the root folder and have them overwrite the files (make copies first if ya want).

HTH

Lemme know if this works.
