Running The Guns

Post by victordeuce »

As the IJN, I've found that, inspired by U.S. Grant, running the guns at Bataan and Singapore on Turn 1 works. Withdraw all ships that survive on Turn 2, then they both fall to the Empire on Turn 2. After that, starve out the Allies for a month while directing forces elsewhere. Use a lot of ships on each, and the result is usually 4-5 transports knocked out, but very little ground losses. Thoughts, anyone?

Interesting strategy, but I don't think that there is large quantity of supply at Bataan. Players generally choose to make last stand either there, or at Manila.
How many ground forces are you using? My guess is, that every gun can shoot only at one ship, so with big enough fleet it is doable without problem.

I use a Division each on both Bataan and Singapore, plus a bunch of REMFs for follow-on ops. As for supply, you withdraw the TFs on Turn 2, conquer those places, then bring the supply ships back in.
