French Collapse

Post by mroyer »

Is there any advantage to the Axis side to not accepting a French armistice, but instead force the complete collapse? Or is it always better to accept the armistice?

Oops I mean French navy doesn't join the ALLIES!!!! Not the Axis if you don't Vichy

French colonies would technically be Germany. But the Allies should be in there occupying those locations.

So, I went for the armistice to keep tne navy out of British hands. I'm not sure if there's ever any reason to NOT accept the armistice.

When I accepted the armistice, the French colonial territory immediately switched to German control. So... thought I'd be brilliant and ship a German division to Syria. It got there and set up in Beirut. When I got my next turn (PBEM) I saw that Syria was no longer German controlled, but Vichy French controlled and the German division was destroyed for no place to displace to [:(] Not so brilliant, after all.

It does if it can go somewhere. If it doesn't it is destroyed. The distance is rather large.

Right, it was destroyed outright. Not a biggie really - It just threw me that it showed Syria as German territory after I accepted the armistice, then immediately took it away [:)]

You have to control the "capitol" of the colony to get it to switch from Vichy.
Favoritism is alive and well here.
