CTD - non Steam W10

Post by Simulacra53 »

Just reporting that I have had 2 CTDs in a row - based on the same saved game, but different turns / points.
Rarely have CTDs, keep healthy systems.

Yes it is vague, no pattern yet.
But kind frustrating end to a good roll - 1st when I was getting control in the east and now while I am moving ahead in France and the Austrian fronts are making moderate progress - ah a few naval successes. I’m sure I won’t be as lucky 2x.

Grumble.

Love the game, but CTDs suck.
So, off my chest, will continue my game from the last (auto)save.

Hi Simulacra53,

Sorry to hear about the crashes, can you provide more info to help me track it down?

For example, what was the error message? Also, can you send me the contents of the ERROR folder found within the USER folder for the game. Typically this is found here:

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWI\ERROR

Thanks,
Hubert

Had two more, but I am save scumming - yes, I adapt.
I’ll check the error log.

Afaik there was no pattern other than my laptop running the game in standalone.
Have not played much with Steam version.

PCs being what they are I was actually trying to find out of I was alone with this issue or not.
If alone it must be by definition something on my laptop.
