Well done! Plus question

Post by wodin »

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by the game. Though the setting I love, hence why I've played it, the scale I'm not into at all bar the odd exception those being D.C.B and WW1Gold. I still feel WW1GOLD is top of WW1 list at the scale however SCWW1 certainly has it beat regarding ease of play. Both games I'd recommend to anyone looking for a WW1 game at this scale.

My main gripe and to be honest this is the only non chrome issue (casualties shown per man please) is not being able to attack with more than one unit at a time. Though Thank God for unit swapping!

My question is regarding HQ first how do you attach corps to them followed by in what way do they help units attached finally is there a limit to how many corps can be attached also is it bad for too many to be attached?

Thanks

Hi wodin

Glad to see you're enjoying the game!

The default number of units that a HQ can have attached is 5, though Command and Control research increases that.

There is no benefit to having less units attached, or to put it another way, having the maximum permissible number of units attached is fine.

In terms of the benefit, being commanded by a HQ dramatically enhances the Morale and Readiness of a unit, and it is practically impossible to defend key positions, or launch offensives, with units that aren't commanded by a HQ.

Section 4.12. on page 96 and section 6.3. of the Manual, pages 150-2, are probably worth a read on this subject too (you can access the Manual, Strategy Guide and list of Hotkeys from the top right of the screen while playing).

Thanks!

WW1 due to it being two very different types of warfare is tricky to get right and it feels this game has joined WW1 Gold in managing to portray it.
