Reinforcement/ Upgrade Question

Is there an indicator how to setup the value for the Reinforcement/ Upgrade slider? I dont know what is a good value having X troops for example? I think it is very important to know that loosing no production or dont have enough production reinforcing your men.

Usually 50% of your production

generally from my playthroughs, during the heavy offensives in the summer as germany i can eat a 2000 production reserve in about 3 turns :). Nowadays i just keep a reserve for the beginning of offensive, then throw about 30% of production into replacements so i can keep fresh forces constantly popping in until i hit manpower limit.
