Sultan's Revenge, 2025

Post by Eboreg »

I've had problems with some of the new scenarios that came out with C:MO but this one just takes the cake. First off, the premise is a bit ludicrous what with Turkey not only having several operational wings of F-35s but also a fully-fledged light aircraft carrier after it got into a war with Greece. This might have seemed rather plausible in the past but given the current political climate, it's simply ludicrous. There's also the whole idea that the Greeks are hostile to the Turks at the start of the scenario and will fly various CAPs and anti-shipping sorties against them without any sort of provocation which just doesn't jive with the premise of the scenario. But that's not the worst part, no that honor goes to the fact that your units will automatically fire on numerous land and surface targets without your explicit orders thus wasting ammunition that you were planning to use for the surgical strikes. I see a great scenario in the making here but it unfortunately needs a lot of work before I can consider attempting to play through it.

Hello Eboreg

This scenario is a follow up to the "fictional" scenario Chasing Aphordite 2018 in which Greece and Turkey go to a full air/naval war in Eastern Med. So the aggresive Greek side is something expected considering that both countries went ot war before 7 years

Both scenarios were created a few years ago so there wasnt even an realistic S400 aqcuisition by Turkey back then which riggered F35 sale block

Also the Greek Side knowing that Anadolu aircraft carrier equiped with Stealth F35 that cannot be monitored by greek IADS several hundred miles away from Greece Heartland would create thoughts of pre-emptive strike in the Hellenic Air Command Staff.

Keep in mind that only yesterday while 18 Turkish aircraft violated the airspace of Eastern Aegean, the Greek side sent an overwhelming 38 Mirage (2000EGM and 2000-5 mk2) interceptors against them.

The scenario is pretty straightforward, try to invade Greece with 0 notice to do SEAD missions against 6 Patriot SAM sites and 2 S-300 PMU1 and hit two trophy Targets in Athens (Greek Parliament and the Pentagon)

You are against F-16V, F-16 block 50 advanced, Mirage 2000 and a Surface Attack Group approaching your side

Are you up to the challenge? [8D]

@Eboreg

You can manually change the Doctrine

I deliberately left it default for the user to play with his own tactics

Well... I did it. Turns out, I had to treat it not as a surgical strike but as an all-out air-to-air brawl.
