A better method

Post by Michael T »

@Alvaro

I would suggest creating an actual single beta patch file that has a version number. The way you are doing it with multiple files is very messy.

Advantages are simple. Accessible to more players. And much easier to make sure players are on the same version and can also report bugs and reference a version that the bug is in.

How are you going to be sure what version a player refers too? How do you know they even copied and pasted all the files? And when etc etc.

Same goes for players. How will they really know what the other guy has on his PC?

Please wrap up beta files in to one download that can be applied like a patch and has a version number.

There is no way I can do this as an installer. Matrix controls that part.

The beta patches are not going to be every day. Maybe once a week. I will ask Matrix to do a repatch for this Monday again.

Bloody matrix. Give me the pips.

A beta installer upload should be much faster than an official patch.

But going on matrix's latest form I don't expect anything from them till well in to the new year.
