Your welcome!

He has done alot of work, a hard working drummer and one of the best, especially at his age.

I have that album (Protocol 4), Greg Howe is in that line up too. Great album! I plan to buy Protocol 3 aswell, although Greg is not in that line up, but Mike Stern is [;)]

Thanks Jhyden.

This was the first fusion album (CD) that I bought back then. They all look young, heck I was younger too! [:D] Must have been somewhere in my thirties. Those years....

all the music you have mentioned I have heard about before. so around the time that Allan Holdsworth passed away, I began looking for other guitarists. After remembering the song Katahdin (I had recorded it from my bro's collection on real player software (that's a time stamp eh?)) . . .

That led me to:

1. Frank Gambale.

Remembering the Chick Corea performance I had seen on PBS (posted above)) I bought a bunch of his CD's, including something from Vital Information w/Steve Smith and the first two w/Stuart Hamm and Steve Smith. While researching Frank Gambale, I found his 'smooth jazz' side which surprised me. [&:] [:)]

2. Scott Henderson. I decided on Tribal Tech b/c of Gary Willis who(m) I remembered from an Allan Holdsworth album. Here's a favorite track from Thick. Scott Henderson definitely has a blues thing going and kinda made me think of Stevie Ray.

Other 'new' music for me has been a foray into Stanley Clarke. I purchased a pair of solo albums from John Patitucci and Dave Weckl also (one of my favorite drummers!)
