and what are the actual scores ?

Post by deVada »

Situation is bad for Japs, over 900 planes lost in one turn !

but it could have been worse!

The Kamikaze perimeter is almost taken, so in near future suicidical attack may become possible ...
Strawb - are You prepared to defend Marianas ? It seems that Allied offensive will go there soon ...

Keep fighting ! :p

Scores

Post by strawb »

Well the allies are about break the 1000 barrier on sunk Japanese MCS (999 at moment), having also sunk over 100 IJN subs, 100+ AP and 120+ DD/DE.

IJN losses = over 40,000
USN losses = 4600

IJA losses = over 17,000
comined CW/Aus/USA losses are less than 10,000

Japanese economy score is just over 3000, oil reserve nudging 6000's most turns.

Total scores -
Allies 125,618
Japanese 75,612

i will fill you in on what is going on since i cant do an attachment. in india the allies moved to Bangkok, but fell back to Rangoon due to heavy resistences. the japanese have moved back to Rangoon with 5 divisions. neither side is attack with land units only air.

The allies have take almost all of new guinea, only Sorong remains in japanese control. the japanese will soon lose that base also.

in the island chain the allies have capture jaluit, maloelap and nauru. the japanese hold 2 island behind the line cook and tarawa.

the islands of emirau, kavieng and admiralty have been turned by the allies in to level 4 airfields and they are pounding truk.

the allies need to consider which way to go. to uses paralle thrusts or one concentrated one.

i still can not get the attachment manager to work!!

what time in game it is ?

Post by deVada »

The war is 50% finished ... If it is not mid 1944 - Allies did well ...

My attachment manager also refuses to execute "add this file" button ...
Maybe it is due to firewalls or what ??

And since we can't get attachments, what about the death ride of the IJN??
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

the date is 7/3/44

the us 5 inf div took Wotje from the 1/wotje sbf losing 30inf to 40inf. the bombardment by usn naval units had reduced the readiness down to 21%. the us 5 inf div does not have a high exp level.

the japanese 20inf div and 12inf reg finally surrenderd at Port Moresby to 3 Aussie divisions.

Sorong has been captured from the japanese 62inf div, 102inf div and the 12 SBF. the allies used 4 divions to capture the base and now will rest a week to bring up supples and rest from the effort of capturing the base. the japanese units are low in infantry. the fight should not be expensive and the divisions will gain valuable experience.

at Tarawa the trapped 7inf div and 35inf brig are being bombared daily by air and any passing surface or carrier tf. low experience air units are being used allowing them to gain experience with little cost.

the allied air bombardment of Truk continues.

at Lashio the japanese 1INA inf div, 3/33 and 1/2 are trapped and low experience allied units are being used in the attack to gain experience. the japanese units are low in infantry and will not last much long. Rangoon continues to be occuppied by the allies with 5 japanese infantry divisions holding their on. neither side has been able to do a infantry battle. air units on both sides fight for air superiorty and to attack infantry in the city.

the allies continue to bring up supplies and divisions getting ready for the next great push.

the attachment problem seems to be fixed it told me i had to much space in attachments already i deleted a number of my old ones and will post a attachment from jun 44 next time

One Allied step forward and Kamikazes will be busy ...

In my latest game against Japanese AI (obcA, even), I have managed to get into Japan (taking Kagoshima, Okinawa, Iwo, Saipan, Philipines, HongKong, Java, Borneo and Solomons) in late 1943. Then, after becoming bored I have taken the Emperor's shoes in may 1944. Of course the situation is dire (no ships, no supplies, no experience, Japan ivaded), but I have managed to sink plenty of CVE, many CVL and 5 carriers to death so far (2 months) and turn back the tide in Japan to Japanese victory. All due to Kamikazes ...
I must add that the rest of allied carriers is going to States for some urgent repairs ... It costed only 2000 planes :D

i made a major mastake on 7/31/44 landed two divisions and a brigade at Tarawa with out a bombardment. i had thought 2 mo. of air attacks has cut down the supplies and units. no such luck. lost over 400 sq. see attachment for move and jg for current positions.

Game very very over

Post by strawb »

Congratulations to Dan on big (Unconditional Japanese Surrender) win.

Unrelenting, error free by him vs overly gung-ho mid -war action by me (PH and Australia debacles).

Had a bad PH fists strike but still no real issue; failed to force a Midaway type battel or othwerwise sink and allied CVs, that really bit. Some badly planned invasiosn on PH and Australia - well not badly planned just hoping that sheer activity would keep Da on back foot, but no.

I had no real oil issues in game, but major resource issue later on (think I hit the bug where 999999 resources flick over to 000000?). SRA is still mine, the big VPs for Dan come from losses. Lodas o planes left and 16+kamikaze groups active but none getting through.

Cheers again Dan for good game
