BUG? U-14 builds in Montenegro

Post by Peter Hugo »

Playing first scenario as Allies and during initial part of March 15, 1915 CP turn, A-H U-14 pops up in Antivari (Port), which is 100% Entente. I think I observed this happen once before.

That's an odd one for sure... was there a sequence of events that occurred leading up to this? Perhaps the AH U-14 diving from an attack and then incorrectly ending up in the Antivari Entente controlled port?

Perhaps the U-14 came back in from patrol because I recall the sub movement sound being played, but the U-5 moved out on patrol in the same movement, so I thought the U-5 had moved and the U-14 popped up.

Thanks and if you ever come across this again please feel free to send me a saved turn to support@furysoftware.com. If it ever is the case that you also have a saved turn from before it happens that would be very useful as well.

You can deploy in the montenegrian (??) port, from the next to it AH port, Not much rason, since you cannot move the unit, and it is next to a land unit, so it just get a free hit, but you can, maybe a need for checking ownership of the hex/port needed for deploying naval unit (or just move the port a bit apart.)

Is U-14 the one commanded by Baron von Trapp?

From the wiki on Georg von Trapp:

"Baron Georg Johannes Ludwig Ritter von Trapp (4 April 1880 – 30 May 1947) was an Austro-Hungarian Navy officer and the patriarch of the Trapp Family Singers, whose lives were the inspiration for the musical play and movie The Sound of Music. His naval exploits during World War I earned him numerous decorations, including the Military Order of Maria Theresa. Under his command, the submarines SM U-5 and SM U-14 sank 13 Allied ships totaling about 45,669 gross register tons."
