reinforcements

Post by jjdenver »

CW corp units in England don't seem to be getting reinforced. One is at strength 5 and hasn't changed in first few turns of the game.

What _exactly_ does the setting in picture do? Does it need to be higher? How can I know how high it needs to be? I read through manual and don't find this explained (like many other things unfortunately).

Thanks

that setting lets you adjust how much production goes towards sending reinforcements/upgrades to units in need of them. Alot of british units are in low strength at start of game takes a few turns to catch up with the production you start with.

you can select a unit for priority by selecting the division you want to focus on, and selecting the green + on right hand side of division details. Up to 20% of a units strength is added back to it a turn at max.

Thanks I'm around end of 40 and it seems none of the Brit land units have received even a single point of reinforcement. What do I need to do different? Raise this level over 100? What do I need to raise it to? How to know?

EDIT: it seems one of my corps got some reinf on Dec 22 turn. But I'd still like to understand this better.

I am sure they have received reinforcement but there are many units across africa and britain that start at 5 strength or so. plus any combat losses you are suffering are going to increase how much more you have to repair for unit strength.

the upkeep number is how much is going towards reinforcing and upgrading your units. you can increase it, but you have only 33 stockpiled production, just keep doing what you are doing, as the game goes on britain gets more production and its units stop soaking its production up for reinforcements, if you arent fighting with them. USA is similar but has larger economy to go off of.

just to be clear, your entire economy produces 108 production a turn. you are putting 100 of that into reinforcements or as close as the game can get to 100 that turn. eventually all your units will stop needing reinforcement and will fill out as the war progresses. Also your economy will grow and you could then increase the reinforcement number. Alvaro the game designer states you should only be doing 50% of economy on reinforcements. however certain situations such as heavy fighting dictate higher or lower numbers based on how hard up your units are.

Thanks, I didn't know that 100 meant 100 economy points to this. That helps.

If I allocate 100 but only let's say 90 are needed, what happens to the extra 10? They are wasted? Or saved? Or something else?

They stay in your stockpile. It just means as much as that many are allocated to repairs.
