Hi, I'm a fan of the land battles, unfortunately for now some M16 can destroy some Abrams tanks: there are no armor value and real differences between a truck and a tank, it would be great, and honestly I don't think it's very difficult for developers to put some standard armor (light for AIFV, heavy for tanks) without going to demand very complicated things like ammo of various type, or various different armor for each type of tank. Having said that I hope this differentiation can be made, but for me this is the best simulation - game in the world and I would buy it a thousand more times! And the developers are fantastic!

I did some very informal tests and came to the conclusion that, at present, CMO really isn't a good platform for most pure land battles. It can work, but you often get really weird results. (I'm not sure how damage is counted for ground units...they don't seem to have damage points...I think it has something to do with their size/area. That probably affects how well direct fire weapons work.)

Where land units do well is when you are fighting aircraft, ships, or submarines, and vice versa. And artillery seems able to knock out other ground units pretty well.

Short answer...CMO is not yet a good platform for tank battles or for SEAL teams shooting it out with terrorists. A tank shooting at small boats offshore works pretty well. A SEAL team making its way to a rendezvous point works pretty well. Using attack aircraft to take out artillery before they can bombard a hapless village works pretty well.

Anyway, just my two cents.

Your conclusion still sounds pretty good to me.
I would love to see more scenarios, that include some more land involvement.
Maybe indeed just focussing on SEAL operations, village bombarments or logistics support.
I think, scenario designers should have this option always in the back of their mind.
Just my 2 cents

Reminds me of a phalanx destroying a battleship in Civ II [:D]

Combining this effort with the interest in WW2 might just produce a scenario around the Guadalcanal campaign where there was a lot of air and naval activity supporting some ground operations on various islands. With little mechanized ground combat it might be more doable. Just infantry and arty. But that will still push the limits of what this sim is about currently. I wish potential designers well in these ideas. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Actually these screens look interesting! I get it’s going to give weird results but I seem to remember that the developer has plans for this.

shame there isn't simply a plug-in to Armoured Brigade.... https://www.matrixgames.com/game/armored-brigade Same Publisher right ? Look and feel isn't a million miles off, Perhaps a geo-coded file with Units and status could be dumped and imported... TacView Plus if you get my drift.

Day-dreaming I know, but it does seem a shame to have to re-do the wheel when an excellent candidate is already out there....

I'm confused about this. Is it a new product? Is it a series of videos? Not sure what I supposed to take from the link.
