UI scaling warning

Post by Uxbridge »

I started testing the latest patch and it's beta changes yesterday. All in all it worked well. But some way into the game I decided to change the UI settings. First I tried 1,25 %, found it surprisingly refreshing and went to test it even more. Changing to 1,75 % got me panels covering much of the map, but I found that rather nice too. Somehow it was much easier to order hardware, fiddle with convoys, etcetera.

It was when I were about to save the game that a problem dawned upon me. My latest change had put the rightmost upper buttons outside the screen. Thus I could neither advance the turn, nor save or access the options to alter any settings. I have to leave the game the hard way.

Either the top panel should remain unscaled when the others are changed, or the upper button rows must be made to move closer to each other when the scaling takes place. Or maybe there should be a limiting of how far the scaling can go.

Otherwise, the patch seems nice.

P.S. I play in 1920x1280.

Saw that you can change the setting with "[" in another thread (it only works in one direction on Swedish keyboard as far as I can se).

You can also adjust it in the main menu -> options

If you like post a pic of the Swedish keyboard. There is no way there is a "[" and not a "]"

Of course there's a way to write the other bracket too.

On a Swedish keyboard, while writing [ and ] in text, we press Alt Gr and the figures 8 and 9, respectively. Doing that in the game produced no effect whatsoever. So I looked at an American keyboard to see where the brackets were located. One of those keys made the images bigger, but it's counterpart couldn't have it back.

But don't think of this any more. It's not that many Swedes around anyway, and I have now decided what size to use. My initial concern was that maybe there was no good way out of the problem.

I've run into this as well. I put my Windows 10 scaling at 150% and have gotten caught not being able to see the whole game inter-face.

Use the main menu to scale it back down.

Are the "(" and ")" keys easily available?
