Couple of questions

Post by jcrohio »

Two Questions.

1. I am getting messages stating that units have "basic port supply". Check the units and mostly they are on supply level 9 hexes. The units are mostly in Egypt but I have seen it up around Konigsberg (Russia is neutral). Playing version 1.04e. Just not sure what the message is trying to tell me.

2. Second is not really a question but maybe a bug. I have overrun most of Egypt/Jordan/Syria and there is a British fleet in the Red Sea. It has been there for numerous turns (maybe as much as 10). Would have thought it would have disappeared for lack of supplies by now. Took an Italian sub there and attacked and there are ships in the fleet. I can give a save if necessary.

Thanks
Jack

The first message happens when your units are receiving partial supplies. Usually due to port interdiction from enemy naval or aerial units that limit its capacity / the shipping received.

The second I am clueless - but they could have used oilers to keep them there (not sure for which reason).

1. Cohen is right that or you got too many units to supply. More ports you get probably solve the issue... That or get rid of Cyprus/Malta as staging bases for your enemy to hit your port supply ships?
2. AI does strange things sometimes. . .

That's what I thought at first but should not have happened around Konigsberg as that is not port supplies. Also the units in North Africa had a decent amount of efficiency which I would not have expected if the units were receiving partial supplies. I have some air units there that have extremely low efficiency. Since they are last in the reinforcement chain I kind of of excepted that. But they were not named as having "basic port supply".

Thanks for the help

Here it is. The British fleet in the Red Sea has been there for months.

I have to add a script to move them out. Something very specific in case this happens.
