Good lord, that map looks like a sweet place for a battle.

This's the first map of Russia after the Barrikady (Stalingrad) series. The idea is to try to reflect the characteristics of the Russian territory, with large areas of land. This does not mean that visibility is "infinite" since large crops provide some visual coverage.

The Rietscher leader I thought was Gary Oldman you know the evil boss in Book of Eli movie.

Leader Rietscher refers to "Senior Sergeant Georg Rietscher." Most of the names that I have used for the Leaders of Heroes and Leaders mod correspond to real soldiers. It's a small tribute to the heroes who fought in all the armies of the Second World War. Georg Rietscher ended his participation in the war with the rank of Lieutenant. He received many medals, including the prestigious Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes), the highest military award of the Third Reich during World War II.

Regarding the images, I use many sources. For example, in the image you have selected, if you look a little, you will see that Major Sergeant "Steiner" is present. The original image is that of the famous Nebraska actor, James Coburn, in his magnificent performance in the famous Sam Peckinpah film, Cross of Iron (1977). Yes!!!. When I saw the trailer, I remembered. Also, I've seen the movie a long time ago. Denzel Washington, performs a good interpretation.

Recommendations for the commander of the Kampfgruppe Harnert ("Großdeutschland" Regiment):

Speed, this is the important thing: speed. Don't waste time with your vehicles eliminating or breaking Soviet units that you find along the way. Your vehicles have to leave the obstacles behind. Your infantry embarked on the vehicles can handle them. You have to neutralize the town that allows the board exit of your avant-garde vehicles. Use the Sturmgeschütz IIIC to control the Soviet mechanized reinforcements (1st Battalion, 61th Tank Regiment, 30th Tank Division) that will arrive to stop the German advance.

The Barrikady battle was quit brutal and intense.

The Germans were in a closed city, unable to impose their great mobility, confined in a house-to-house battle. The Soviet soldiers achieve to fix the German units and approached them so much that the German artillery and bombers lost their support capacity to avoid casualties by "friendly fire."

But in "Brialystok cauldron scenario" the Grossdeutchsland regiment still had the capacity of speed, taking advantage of its complete motorization, which allows it to take advantage of its infiltration capacity in the precarious Soviet front as well as cause the effect of surprise and confusion in the Soviet rearguard.

It's a very different picture and the tactic must also be ..........
