RE: September
Fairly quiet in this game, waiting for the main event.
British are looking to throw the Italians out of Africa but not sure if they have the supplies to do it.

RE: September
Mm quiet.
I have no idea have to defend Russia. This time I havent done anything special. I have kept and not disbanded the rifle corps and intend to set up forward in the border area with come kind of checkerboard defense and see if they are any roadbumbs at all or just die.. If anyone have any nice tricks please share
We will see how it goes but against a large German army probably attacking earlier then historical I would be very afraid for Mother Russsia and I am
.
English try to push on to Benghazi but supply and not that many forces might make it tricky to take.

I've never played a proper HvH Soviet invasion either so should be interesting, bring on the clear weather !

Yes will be fun. Obviously the eastern front is always the main course in these WW2 Strategy games

RE: September
Sadly the Italian airforce did something heroic. I was too quick, dint think and transported in a bomber to Tobruk which was instantly sunk by the bomber in Benghazi. Pasta for everyone!! Yummy!
January
Lost an Italian corps in Africa and have decided just to pull back to Europe, can't defend Africa without German units and not sure if it gains me much to stay there anyway.
Otherwise just building up on the Soviet border.

And it´s quite a buildup basically every German unit is marching east with Yugoslavs and others guarding the west. Not sure if Russia have the tools to withstand such an onslaught but it will be interesting anyway. I think our version of the game have the lend lease bug which caps aid to Russia to 20 so doesn´t help either and we house ruled that no western allies enter Russia. On top of that I have kept my riflecoprs aginst what seems to be forum wisdom so Stalin is not feeling too optimistic but who knows [:)].
For certain the British can´t wait long to start some counterplay in the west somehow somewhere.

Didn´t need clear weather Barbarossa launched on March 17
March.
Mostly clear weather so Barbarossa begins, not sure if this is the best strategy...
Axis army wasn't quite ready, a few corps still in garrison mode and others not in position yet.
Manage to kill 7 Soviet corps without committing too many Panzer units.

Disadvantages are of course the russian reserve armies arrive early and might get some time to get into position.
Secondly the infcorps I had get a bit more value in the bad weather.
But getting 6 turns of railrepairs I think should outweigh the disadvantages. I am not sure if I can defend either Leningrad or Moscow might have to retrat to Ivanov-Gorki-Vononezh or something
but we will see it is fun that the campaign in the east have started anyway. Anyhow I don´t know enough of the game to say anything with certainty.
Hm made some mistake with the quote thing. Only the first line is Tyronerest is me.

RE: March.
You are going to get a lot of mud turns here probably, and it may be difficult to actually take full advantage of that extra rail repair. And the Soviets will have better opportunity to deploy their reserves and firm up the line. I'd be pretty happy here as the allies. But maybe the weather gods will favor you. It's a very chancy move.

2 cold turns in a row in the south. Don´t know the weather table so not sure if that is lucky or not but Panzers at Dniepr April 11 and I barely managed to man the whole river.Doesn´t feel like the best of starts but early days yet [:)]
RE: March.
Poor weather across the front.
In the North do a few attacks and force our way across the Daugvuda.

South just advancing as far as possible.
Soviets got in a few free air attacks, will try and make sure the whole front is covered by fighters in future.

Clear in the South.
Pocket a few Infantry and get up to the Dnepr.
Think I killed about 6 units this turn. No sign of anything but crud yet, Soviets are just throwing out road blocks.

RE: April
2 cold weather turns in a row in April is excellent Axis weather luck. Indeed, the weather should be sketchy all the way into June.
The early invasion is paying off here thanks to these weather conditions.

In the North have had Snow-Mud-Snow-Mud (looking forwards one turn), which is slightly worse than average.
In the South have had Clear-Snow-Clear-Mud, which is better than average but the second Clear was not that helpful.
Still not sure if it is a good strategy, will see when the Soviet defences harden up and am facing an army that has had time get it's reserves out.

How do you know average weather? Is there any info about weather possibilities anywhere I don´t think I have seen any.
