Need much better reports on opponents Turn

Post by kennonlightfoot »

It is really difficult in this game to know what is going on due to the lack of any kind of replay or detail battle reports. I hope the developers are considering some improvements other than a big dot where a battle occurred. It is one of the German side advantages in 1939-1941. Since they are the attacker they know what happened. The Allies only know someone disappeared or got driven back.

If you goto "log" or maybe "reports" at the top the screen, you can get a detailed summary of every battle

It will show the unit names, the combat multiper, the hex and the result

It is in there, you just have to select the prior turn not current turn info

I'll take a look at that since I didn't know about it.

But a "Replay" function is the superior way to view a battle. Then you see something that more resembles what the active player saw when they attacked and is much more informative of what threats are there. There other game, "Brother Against Brother", was hurt badly by the lack of information on the "unseen" turn. Caused a lot of players to leave in frustration. Now its a "dead" game which is unfortunate. It was probably the best regimental PBEM civil war game made. I stop working on a game I was developing on the Civil War because I thought it solved most of the problems the older board like CW games had.

I haven't been able to find any kind of detail report or even report that a battle occurred.
The log shows units that are shattered or surrender but nothing else that I can find.
The report shows totals but I think they are accumulated totals.

Finally found it. Have to wait and see what it shows on a few battles to see if the information gives you a good picture of what happened.
