China: We now have a road link from Kunming to Chungking. It's a long road but it's open. Kunming is drawing supply from Moulmein.

heh - I remember when the compact fluorescent bulbs came out, and they claimed 15 years for a bulb life... i was lucky if they went 1 year (multiple bulbs - i started writing the date but in service in magic marker on the base to check.) I notice they stopped advertising how long they would last not long afterwards. [8|]ORIGINAL: Cap Mandrake

I went over to Lowes. They have light bulbs that are likely to last longer than I am. Why would I buy something like that?
Hope?

I read where those bulbs are banned in Germany because of the mercury.

Along with other fluorescent bulbs like tubes? The little compacts really don't have much mercury.ORIGINAL: RangerJoe

I don't know, I just read about those compact ones. The LEDs I don't like because they are too bright, I prefer the soft white light bulbs. I prefer none on when I sleep but I can sleep during the day just fine . . .

Sundas: I had this creepy feeling that our recon was crappy and JJ was planning something so I pulled the BB's back about 200 miles and sent a CA/DD group looping around Kai-elanden. Nothing happened other than a sub sinking a big Jap TK by Sulawese.

PI: Not much happened> We shot down 1 Nick over Luzon and JJ had mildly effective raids over Clark.
We counterattacked at Iba. This proved to be a bad idea but not a catastrophe. Definitely not worth the supply.

Sundas/New Guinea: Zekes sweep over Babo, Dutch New Guinea, but the P-40's from Kaimana put up a good fight. We trade 1 for 1 in numerous sweeps even though outnumbered.

China: Very effective air attacks on the Jap ground troops at Neikiang (NW of Chungking). If we can take Neikiang, the supply route to Chungking from Tsuyung will be shortened. Supply situation in Chungking went up by 2500 tons in one day. Some is from stepped up air flights from Ledo but some is clearly overland.
I moved some Canadian Hurris over to Chungking now that supply is improved. Nice ambush.

Nice air ambush at Kunming too. The routine is move in some juicy C-47's and take OUT the fighters...allow the Japs to recon the place and then the next turn move all the C-47s to Ledo or Chungking and move some fighters in. [:D]
Of course, they will eventually get wise to this.

Solomons: Medium bombers at Kirakira switch over to ground attack at Lunga and we turn loose 2nd Marine Div. We manage a 2:1 and take down 1 fort level. Very gratifying but I think the LYB's managed to get much of 18 Div out by air. This shouldn't take too long.
