Warplan is a World War 2 simulation engine. It is a balance of realism and playability incorporating the best from 50 years of World War 2 board wargaming.

The Build dialog shows Canada as having its own pool of landing craft and supply trucks. Do they just support Canadian land units, or British, or British and American?

I thought the British could use Canadian support units, but when I tried landing a British corps and using Canadian landing craft (the British didn't have enough in their pool), I couldn't do it.

They share MM but the transports and landing craft are their own I believe.

That's not really historical (Canada was fully integrated into the Commonwealth forces).

As were South Africa, Australia and New Zealand ... at least at the logistical and transport level.

Command and control ... co-operation, but not control.

Commonwealth forces operated under British command, though they always had the right to appeal to their own governments (which frustrated British commanders).

The truth is, I don't understand why Canada needs to depicted in WarPlan as a separate power. Its production is too small to make much of a difference other than building support units, and those support units can't be shared with the British.

Indeed, as I said, co-operation (in WarPlan terms) but not control of units.

I think you are probably correct, Canada should probably not be depicted as a separate power at the level the game represents ... but the UK should be forced to create a certain proportion of units (or forced to deploy them) IN Canada. I suspect this isn't possible, so it may be best (if possible) to disallow Canadian production of 'Phibs, Transports, Trucks etc. while allowing them to produce Land, Sea and Air units.

I also think Canadian production is too low in the vanilla game.
