Automated AI features

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Automated AI features

Post by superhans »

I do want to buy this, and i have other GG titles like WiTW and WitP but the sheer click fest puts me off a bit (only a bit! ok, maybe a byte).

Are there any automated features like say, Let AI handle Recon, or just manage fleet air commanders who in turn let AI handle mission setup based on your top down strategy?

I feel this would add something extra to the game. Of course, this would be optional so you could play the game top down, bottom up, or somewhere in between. Command Ops does this rather well.

Thanks guys.

You can have the AI generate your recon missions based on certain settings with minimal clicking. You can also have the AI generate a single raid with bombers and escorts by selecting the target, or a raid group with several targets in the same vicinity. It does a decent job of creating the bombers and escorts and setting the altitude and path but a little bit of massaging by the player is sometimes warranted. The auto-planned raid procedure is not explained in the manual so it takes a bit of practice to get it right at first.

You can mix up the AI generated raids with your own micro managed raids for the day no problem.

The AI does all my recce; I sometimes alter the flight path to take in a few choice spots on the way back.
The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind.
