Supply

Post by JamesLxx »

I was wondering if the modleing of supply will improve in highway to the reich - in AA it was a very simple abstraction - about the only thing not realistic in that exellent game.

James, it will be the same. Supply is a major feature and is scheduled to get revamped for the next game (Bulge).

James,

As in RDOA the supply expenditure system is very realistic but the resupply system is abstracted. As Bil says this is a BIG job and we plan to overhaul the resupply system for the next game "Battles from the Bulge" ( working title ). For other planned features see this thread

Current re-supply system is OK for AA:RDOA IMHO.
We'll see how it fares in HTTR.
For the next games (esp. in the Ardennes), it will be a must to have a much improved supply system.

My 2 cents,

JeF.

compromise

I know a full resupply model in AA-HTTR would be complex to say the least. But what about refining the existing abstration by caulculating a simple basic percentage of daily supply a unit gets based on its position reletive to its supply source and the enemy.

Sounds like a patch request even before the game is out ;) :) :)
