New Scenario - BETA - Blackmail, 2019

Had a bit of time this morning to play. So, 5th gen a/c have managed to destroy all Russian aircraft in the southern AO in the first 4 hours - no fighters or AEWs are now up. Launched a strike of Raptors with SDBs and hit lots of air defense elements around Chah Bahar and towards Pakistan as well as SSMs. No response from the OPFOR - no radars were active and nothing was fired in response or defense. Right now I'm waiting for a flight of B-1s to come up behind the America ARG so they can launch a coordinated Tomahawk MMT / LRASM strike on the Russian ship force - which has no active radars either and has not fired a single SAM at aircraft in it's range, even when detected by other Russian assets. Russia continues to send unescorted MPA into the Arabian Sea, probably searching for my ships and they keep dying before they get close. No sign of subs yet, but those are my biggest concern for now.

Recommendation - have your air defense systems using active radar so they can fight back and set up Exclusion Zones along with WRAs to use them to good effect. At the moment I can move and attack with impunity.

Morning gents. I too have found that the Russians surface fleet didn't fight back. Once I had them identified I attacking using the B1s only and overwhelmed them. I did carry out my attack in editor though and switched sides to see what happened. So the initial detection was at about 50 miles and the fleet activated it's radar and jammers, with the missiles being tracked and seen in real time from 20 miles but there was no defensive fire.
I've still to finish the scenario and will post up my Losses and expenditures after i'm done.

So I have 20 hours to go and I think I'm just about there in terms of the mission.
Some weird things have happened.
The Russian Fleet was taken down by 4 B1s. No defensive fire of any kind was noted. Likewise the Indian fleet when the time came was taken down by some F18s and Tomahawks.
Then weird things happened.
The Indian air force came out to play. My CAPS to the west started firing all their missiles even though there wasn't many targets in range. Some got kills but not many.
Several ships from the carrier formations appear to have disconnected from the groups. For example The Churchill is now being listed as friendly but not under my control anymore. This appears to have happened to all 3 western groups. I'm also getting a 'NO COMM' message about them (hopefully screenshot attached).

I'm heading away for a week so won't be able to finish it till I get back but here's my losses/expenditure list.

PS still no instruction about South Russian although I can see the units there. Also managed to take out the Russian air group to the north before they took off with the other B1s.

Hey Selchu!
I think I will have an updated version of the scenario by next week, with the addition of a Russian/Iran exclusion zone to shoot on unidentified targets.
I will also reduce 5th Gen fighters and/or reduce number of carriers. Rus SAM will also be scaled up.

Okay, OUTOFCOMS is expected (for the ones who read the series, AEGIS is bound to be hacked a lot), but EMCON for the ships was supposed to go down as well...if someone can check the script for me to rule out what is wrong I'd appreciate it.
I will also put more emphasis on the South Russia mission in the briefing.

Ok sounds interesting. Looking forward to the update. I'll let the clock run on in this one and see does the other surprise I think is coming turn up.

If your going to have problems with hacking and comms going down might be an idea to mention it or something about it in the brief. I haven't read the books and it's caused me some confusion and may do others.

Apart from that, looking forward to the update.

Ok,
So the update has indeed changed alot. Firstly within about 15 mins of starting there are missiles everywhere. Unfortunately I'm finding it difficult to deal with them all and this is having some knock on affects. Al-Mussaanah has been hit so fast that I have lost some F22s while they are still loading out and can't take off.
The carriers have held out ok so far but there has been a massive effort to sink them. Some of the missiles are in the air from the Russian SAG before I can locate them and also I suspect from some of their subs.
I am trying to counter this but the air attacks are just taking alot of my time and mean I can't get looking at the Georgia mission at all.
It's a tough nut now.

Also noted is the price you have to pay to use the Ohio.
Also did you change the SV-22s on the LHAs? The previous version had refueling capable ones but they seem to be gone now?

Mmmm no, I don't think I did. My update may have been before the last CMO update (don't quote me on that) and loadout databases may have shifted. I will check it and come back at you.

I also figured out the problem with the fighter missiles. Mine jeep fire at about max range and then running out. Asked on discord earlier so I have changed the WRA so they fire at 50nm. Have done this for all AMRAAMS. it's a good premise.
I'll have a couple of suggestions for you later tonight. Have changed a couple of things on my version to see if it makes a difference.

OK, Couple of suggestions.
Firstly I haven't finished the mission yet. I'm currently about 5 hours in and so have run it to this point about 4 times.
The mission to sink the Russian SAG is very difficult. The 3 Sergey Gorshkov FFG's have high powered anti air defence lasers. I have been trying to get a strike through them with no luck. I even did an experiment where I used 8 B-1s with AGM-158C LRASM. 196 missiles only got me 3 kills. I would suggest for balance cutting it down to 1 or even 2 of these and have the earlier 2017 variant in there to maintain you fleet numbers.
This is just a thought for balance. A player could launch the B-1s and every FA-18 in 2 strike groups and still only have a small chance of hitting. This will burn both alot of scenario time and munitions that the player needs to complete missions later.

The SV-22 on the LHAs can do refueling but it needs the refueling kit to be available. I added it to mine. That being said you could put a couple of tankers on Masirah and remove a couple from Diego Garcia to keep the balance.

I have also move my ships starting position back slightly to allow setup time before rounds start flying. This also allows time for the battlefield to populate. I don't know what the story in the book says but the Russians launch a strike seemingly straight away and thats whith my ships on EMCON.

I would also consider adding mor LRASM missiles to the base that the B1s fly from. Give the player a choice of loadout for their 2nd shots.

Yeah I been looking it up. Laser dazlers in these FFGs are not even expected to destroy solid objects but to confuse, cause damage to a pilot etc... at least that is their claim.
