Possible BoB bug

Post by poymando »

I recently started playing a full BoB campaign as British. All was going well until the day of the first night time raids. My daytime intercepts went well and all aircraft had returned before dark. After dark, I started to get notices that aircraft were crashing. It appeared that there were no active patrols, no planes on the map. I ended up losing about 50 Hurricanes due to this situation. Might this be a bug or is there something I'm missing?

Do you have a saved game from that turn before the problem?

Hi Warshipbuilder
I do. I have saved gamed file from before that turn and after the turn. Happy to send it along if someone can interpret it

I think this is the proper save file. I changed the file extension to .txt from .bob to get it to upload. Hopefully, you can change back to .bob on your end to read it
I've also been having the odd crashing bug at the beginning of each turn. I usually lose 1-3 aircraft to crashes as soon as the turn begins.

Got it, thanks. Darndest thing I ever saw, like some science fiction EMP knocking the RAF out of the sky. I'll take a deeper look and see what I can find.

does this happen often, or just this once?

Thanks for taking a look at it.
It happened twice. At first I thought I might have recalled the fighters too late and they were crashing in the dark. I played a second time, recalled all flights early and same thing...30+ crashes.
Also losing 1-3 aircraft to crashes as soon as the turn begins. Very odd.
Also of note-this bug only appeared on the fist turn that the LW begins night ops.

I have not had the problem mentioned in my OP since the patch so perhaps that fixed it. Thanks for supporting the game!

Not sure if it helps, but a long time ago, the German Night fighters also had that issue in Bombing the Reich. Not sure how it was fixed, but might be worth looking into.

Well if the latest patch fixed it for poymando I guess it's not a problem anymore.

Code was added in the initial Matrix release to make sure aircraft were on the ground before going to a new turn. poymando's bug is very odd, I'm guessing it may have been started with the 1.04 public beta, which was buggy and added weird stuff that never belonged.
