Hello All,
How do I turn God's Eye View on or Off?

Thanks
Andy
God's eye is working only in Scenario Editor mode.

With a couple people complaining that there isn't enough documentation, this is a perfect example, once again, that devs should put a minimal amount of effort into documentation and manuals. There is an entire section in the manual within the scenario editing chapter. A simple global search of the PDF would have shown it in table of contents.

And not only that, why just randomly stick the question in any old thread.

Sorry for asking the question, but the way the changelog reads, I made.the assumption that this was now a selectable feature in the setup menu. That is also the reason I posted the question in this thread, which is related to this update. So, excuse me for asking a question. It's people like you that drive individuals away from gaming.

Thanks
Andy.

1) Try asking in the main forum for one thing.
2) Nowhere does the change log even hint at God's Eye view being available in regular game play mode. And if you are somehow confused by that. then ask the question the right way. Read your question again and think about what someone would think. Even the guy helping saw that.

Again the point is read it and try it. Some common sense would show that if they didn't add it to the menu in the regular game play mode, its not what they are talking about. Too many people don't bother using the available docs and information provided and then thread like this as their personal tech support or db issue thread. It just makes the devs job harder when they have sort through the useless questions from the valid ones.

Ok,
To my point, nowhere in the manual does it state, that God's Eye View must be on to work with TACVIEW.

Printed manual page Section 5.4.7 page 114 and EBOOK Manual Section 5.4.7 state, exactly the same thing, there is no mention to select this for TACVIEW.

Also on page 151 section 6.3 view last bullet in the EBOOK and page 150 same section in printed manual, it states that when TACVIEW is selected it will show. "All Units like in God's Eye Mode."

I only assume that the manual, should be changed to instruct the user to select, "God's Eye View" if they want to see everything in TACVIEW.

So, I did "RTFM" and since I didn't find what I was looking for, I asked here.

Thanks
Andy

Ok, you got me, but to my point is why the hostility? You immediately made assumptions about me and my question. Anyway I write manuals and training material for a living so don't get me started on that topic, since there is so much detail that isn't covered. God forbid if someone didn't ask in the correct thread or forum since they may be chastised by someone that my know it all.

Groveling at the feet of an expert asking for forgiveness, please Mr. Moderator forgive my transgression.

Thanks

The comments are because the devs were hammered about lack of documentation for five years. They made a concerted effort in CMO to upgrade the docs and better point to where help can be found. And take a look at how many questions you still get that could easily answered by a quick search in the manual.

As I have stated numerous times, if you need that kind of basic help to play game, you're playing the wrong game. The game rewards some basic common sense, the willingness to experiment, and doing some VERY basic research. If you want a game where playing a few tutorials and expecting someone to hand hold you until you can win every scenario, you're playing the wrong game. This game covers some seventy years of naval and air warfare. It has 10's of thousands of units across those decades of military development. No company or community can provide the detailed documentation at that scale. Its the price you, as a player, have to pay for having a game of this scale. You get the basics of the interface and how the commands interact. But there is some stuff you'll have to figure out on your own.

Wanting to read some basics on naval warfare is a must. You have people playing who don't even understand the basics of the game or the subject. There is a time commitment you are going to have to make to come close to competent. Its the instant gratification syndrome that some people have. They are unwilling to do the basics. I have been playing this game since before release, played some of its predecessors in naval warfare, and read naval warfare books constantly. And even after that, I still don't know probably 90% of what the game is capable of. I spend a lot of time search for info and setting up scenarios to answer questions on my own. Don't expect everyone to be like that, but at a minimum, search the manual and the forum.

This game has been around six years and there are six years worth of threads on almost every subject. 80% of the questions can be answered through a quick manual/documentation search or a forum search. I have no issues with someone asking questions, but I have seen more and more new players not doing the basics and expecting the devs to do everything for them. I just got tired of watching the devs trying fix some stuff and then having to take time to answer a question that shouldn't have been asked.

Its about a common courtesy of doing a little for yourself before asking someone to take time out of their day to answer a question. AND doing it in a thread where it makes no sense. And people asking questions that make no sense is just icing on the cake. Again, go back and look at your question. Both of the people who replied answered it as you asked it. Take a minute before posting and re-read the question. I can't help it if you don't know how to ask the question.

Well, at least you weren't drinking when you wrote that one. It's actually coherent. If not a little after the fact.

Wood, man, sometimes it feels like your the high school truant officer, creeping around, checking kids hall passes, holding it up to the light to verify the validity of the signatures!

I mean your generally right, but the aura is negative.

Go read all of your own posts. You are making this a very unpleasant forum and the reason I stayed away.

There are other ways to say things without being hostile and unpleasant.
