French Navy... but without ships?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

French Navy... but without ships?

Post by chacal83000 »

Hello all,
would like to know why the French Navy in the game is smaller and weaker when compared to Italian one. Simple exemple only 2 BB for France while 4 for Italy. (on september 1st Italy had 4 BBs (correctly depicted) while France had 5 IIRC... that 3 deasappeard ships.. I dont even looked on cruisers... Maybe its a classification point or i missed somthing or more probably for playability reasons ?Thanks for answers.

I believe it is because of playability. In this game, some people use the French navy to preform suicide attacks on the Italian navy, as they will soon be surrendering anyway.

In response to these tactics, the Italian navy has grown some to help keep it alive for more than a turn or two after Italy enters the war, and so it is now larger than it should be in relation to the French, and British as well, frankly.

But it is necessary.

Thanks Markiss. Thats make sense if to prevent gamey tactics. Its still a litlle deseappointing as the Royale was calibrated to face the italians... I'll try to think about events to prevent such tactics..
