I am newbie war gamer

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

I am newbie war gamer

Post by bostonrpgmania »

Hi everyone here
I am relatively new to war game even though I regard my self somewhat seasoned gamer.
Recently I played galactic civilization, pool of radiance ruins of myth dronner and modes of never winter nights.
I have read many good review about this game (for example, CGW)
and found it at my local store and bought it.

About 7 month ago, I purchased uncommon valor after Desk top general's suggestion and quicly noticed that the game play doesnt suit me.
I think korsun pocket interests me more.

I will practive with tutorial and some day I hope I can find someone for PBEM (I am really new to this genre so if you dont mind..)

Anyway nice to meet ya all here!

Hi BRM - welcome.

I too have found Uncommon Valour not to my taste - perhaps a little too complex for a dunce like me ;) KP on the other hand, at medium complexity, I find superb. You can play it very very simplay (and lose  ) or put in a little more effort and be rewarded with great fun.

When you are ready post up your name on these forums for an email game, it is way fun.

Brubaker

PS: Rob and the boys are working on a ladder over at his site that I think is going to become the definitive KP experince.

LOL

All that jiggling made me think that people wouldn't take me seriously anymore   so I thought I would 'age' it a bit.

And its certainly not my sig - it is in respect and honour of IgotMilk who posts on these forums sometimes and is sadly missed when he doesn't :p
