CV Op Question

As below:

1. A fleet of 3 UK CV Groups move toward a German Sub spending 1 Operation Point
2. The Illustrious CV Group launches a Carrier Strike on the German Sub, the Courageous and Ark Royal do NOT participate in the strike
3. The Illustrious Carrier Strike fails to find the German Sub which spends its second Operation Point

While not engaging in the Carrier Strike, the Courageous and Ark Royal cannot spend their second Operation Point either to move or launch individual Carrier Strike(s).

Question: When a Fleet containing multiple CV Groups, does a Carrier Strike automatically include ALL CV Groups in the attack regardless of their inclusion in the strike or is this a bug?

A single fleet fights as 1 unit. There is no splitting CV to attack here or there.

but does increase the chances or is it just the one Carrier attacking!

You mean for search? The larger the group the better chance to find.
