CSV Crash at Turn 6

Post by Major Shane »

I am crashing after playing Campaign for South Vietnam (CSV) FWF vs. NLF (AI) after Turn 6. I've had it crash 3 times. I have attached the crash log. I'm playing CSV Version 5.1 and TOAW IV version 4.0.1.23 Public Beta

Same here and just came to post about it. But you beat me to it. [;)]

Game version 4.0.1.23 beta patch
CSV Version 5.1

My computer:
Intel i3 - 2.5ghz laptop
Intel HD 4000 gfx
4GB Ram
Windows 10
Realtek Audio

It crashes after turn 6.

Shane

2x-check your version; according to the crashlog you got 4.0.0.11. Also, add the flag smallram=Y in your Opart 4.ini. I also just go 4GB RAM and it does help.

Your post made me double check. I thought I had installed the latest beta. Instead I had 4.0.1.15. I installed 4.0.1.23 and it has now gone onto turn 7 instead of crashing at the end of turn 6. Hope this works beyond that. Thanx for your help.

Oberst Klink,

Thanks for your note. I had installed the Public Beta Updates to the wrong folder. I have now installed the 4.0.1.23 version correctly. I have run the turn and made it to Turn 7. The problem appears to be fixed.

Thanks for the help.

The content of both folders is the same, apart from the EQP file - which I believe is no longer required (apart from in the editor should you need it). I would assume the ones in "Campaign for South Vietnam 1965-75" is the one used since it matches the name of the scenario.

Most of the files there are redundant anyway, the units colors are no longer used and the other files are really bad quality so will look terrible (like the rail... ugh)
I say erase them all.

If you want some decent-looking rice paddies copy the following files from the "Vietnam Combat Operations - Volume 1 1965" folder:
tiles_h_cultivated.png
tiles_l_cultivated.png

In fact I don't think the _h_ file is even used, but might as well copy it in case [:D]
