Question on AI for Alvaro

Post by PanzerMike »

If I change the course of a river in the Editor will this affect the AI? What I mean is, is the AI aware of the presence of rivers and will it choose a favorable hex for defense regardless of my change of the map or is it scripted/hard coded in some ways so that the changed River messes things up?

Generally yes but there are fixed orders for defensive positions. You should change those also.

Ok, then I will not change the course of the rivers.

Tow more questions.

1) How about partisans? If I change the layout of the railway system, will the AI know how to deal with that. Will they still sabotage railway/spawn units on railway hexes only?

2) Did you script certain defense lines not only with rivers in mind but also with current railways (ie will the AI still form a defensive line on hexes that used to have a railway line, but since I perhaps (re)moved the rail it makes no sense anymore)?
