Possible for Italy to Join Central Powers?

Under what circumstances will Italy join the Central Powers?

I'm trying a game in which I invest MMP at 150 a pop to swing Italy to the side of the Central Powers

After investing 600 MMP Italy joins Entente at about same time it does if I invest no MMPs to sway it.

The 600 MMP effort was about all I could afford as I began to run short of units on the Western & Eastern Fronts.

So, will Italy ever enter on side of Central Powers? Has anyone ever seen this?

In the normal campaign, Italy cannot join the CP, only the Entente, and that is mostly driven by events (If AH did not hand over the territories, Italy gets massive swings toward the Entente until it joins.)

If you want Italy in the CP, you need the triple Alliance campaign, where they will join the CP, similarly by events mostly.

Since the game balanced with Italy going to the Entente, Italy joining the other side is almost an entire difficulty level swing for the CP side.
