Dual Install - Release and Beta Versions

Post by kennonlightfoot »

Is it possible to have two versions installed so you can keep games going with people who don't want beta updates until they reach release?

I dont see why you can't. Both would use the MyGames\WarPlan folders and protection check.

Making a duplicate copy then installing updates to the copy worked.

However it does use the same section of MyGames\WarPlan folder to access scenarios. So to separate Beta scenarios from previous revision requires renaming the scenario rather than just copying into existing.

It only uses the MyGames\WarPlan folder. It is hard coded. I just looked. I have 2 versions on my PC and they both look in the same MyGames spot. I'd suggest just changing the scenario name and folder name.

Like

the beta Europe 1939.scn and Europe 1939 folder to
Europe 1939b.scn and Europe 1939b folder.
