Unit quality

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

Unit quality

Post by Fastheinz »

In the manual is lists unit quality as gold (elite), grey (normal), red (rookie), however in the game I noticed that there are white background units also. Is this a veteran unit, ie: have they changed unit quality?

Hi Fastheinz

Here is a picture of the types of units you are discussing:

Image

The bottom is a gold or elite unit, the middle a red or inexperinced uit and the top a grey or regular unit. I have not found a white unit? Could you please clarify?

Further investigation shows that panzer type units will have a white background if not elite or substandard. Luftwaffe units have a blue background.

I was curious about the unit colors as well. I vaguely remembered the white background for armor units from TAO2 but I couldn't find anything in the KP manual.

To add to the list, artillery units have a light pink/orange background and supply units are gray (german at least do).
