We will see how it goes, I don't know if it is still possible, I think I need to assess the status as of the end of amphibious advantage. He just need to get a beach head in Sumatra and Java, and then it is going to be very difficult to get him out. He has 6 division totally uncommitted (Malaya and HK)

and I still don't have carrier superiority; at the moment I only have Hornet and Formidable, both either at out of map or at the very edges; Hornet also needs to upgrade its wings (still flying Helldivers). Japan can counter with Junyo+Ryujo+Hosho+Shoho+Zuiho+Taiyo, which combined gives a stronger punch than my ~123 planes
not to mention LBAs

Next Allied carrier is Illustrious in 38 days, next American carrier is Wasp in 81 days, then an intermission until 43

- Very quiet turn, he stopped the air campaign over Oosthaven, this brought a nice respite to the defenders; probably won't last too long

- First concrete evidence of a move against Palembang; 25th Army is embarked; destination Medan. At first I was puzzled on why he would disembark so far away up north, but then I realized he might be marshaling the fleet. I will increase naval search on direction to Medan

- He also conquered Bandjermasin, another base that took him forever to invade

- No turn until Friday, as he is on a business trip. Funny I was also supposed to be on a business trip in Europe; but Coronavirus cancelled it... In any case, this means that in the next few days, I will start writing more detailed on specific theaters

I am having a lot of fun in this game

My plans, for the moment are to move the start line as north/ as close as possible to Japan; I still need to wait until the end of amphibious advantage to see what else he will grab; probably not much as we are less than 10 days away. I haven't decided yet where to strike, but likely candidates are in Papua New Guinea; either east or west coast (depending on what happens to Darwin and Pt Moresby), other candidates are the Andaman/ North Sumatra area and maybe even Java or south Sumatra, if by miracle the place holds for a few months. I have never been a fan of the Aleutians, and although I am building bases there, I don't think I can achieve much there, at least not in the short term

I have no plans for the Central Pacific, as atolls are difficult to conquer until amphibious assault equipment arrives, the place lost importance after the sinking of KB. Same goes for places like Colombo, New Zealand or Fiji, they are still important depots, but now they are too far away from combat, I won't need to worry about garrisons or build defenses there

I will write about China (and other theaters) in more detail soon. It is not a secret I really hate playing in China (as Allies or Japan), so I haven't done too much there, other than getting decimated. I noticed he put a lot of his unrestricted air force in China; which means I am in worst shape than the typical Allied player in Mar.42, but I think he bet on the wrong horse, those planes were desperately needed in the SRA; at least 90% of his issues in capturing bases were due to fort building and rebuilding. with more planes he could had made it difficult to fortify

I believe you get 10 new CVEs before 1943 plus the Long Island you already have. Along with the Wasp, when it arrives mid- June, the Hornet and the repaired Lexington, plus whatever British carrier you have on hand at the time, you will have carrier superiority well before 1943. You will have a total of about 550-600+ carrier aircraft, before 1943 and he will have about 300 carrier aircraft. You might consider doing something well before 1943, at a non-atoll enemy held location.

- Japanese BB TF sank a small amphibious TF at Rossel island. Some troops lost, but at least the LCU was already on land, hence they will "regrow" in due time, once I have good supply.
As much as I hate loses, these amphibious assaults have to continue, as I need to consolidate the "border line" as drawn in orange; once Pt Moresby reaches level 9 airfield, the B-17s will start talking retribution payments with Japan
