Romania joining Entente too soon?

Post by Tanaka »

I find that on the very first turn if I back my Austrian troops into a more defensive position rather than offensive into Russia that Romania joins the Entente on the very next turn. WAD?

That needs to be a massive territorial loss instead of defensive posture. Lemberg, Przemysl and Krakow is the three main Romanian trigger (maybe Stanislaw also), if you give up all three, they will join, but that means you pretty much give up a sizeable part of your empire as your starting move, you should be hanged as a general for this. Not to mention that Two of them are forts that could hold up the Russians for quite some time.

Giving up Lemberg without any fight is also not a good idea, that can easily give you an entire turn for that front at the cost of a single corp at most.

The only thing I gave up was Lemberg, Galacian Oil Fields, and Tarnapul...You literally cannot pull back at all or it is like you have already lost the war...

Lemberg and Tarnapol should not trigger the Romanian joining, it must be a bug than.

Edit: just started a campaign to test it, left Tarnapol, Lember and the Oilfield empty, no other action just some movement for Przemysl and Krakow. After the Entente turn, lost what expected (and Mühlhausen, but that does not matter), and Romania went from 20% to 34%, as expected and should, no instant joining.
