Announcement

Post by Wild Bill »

At least some of you will be interested in knowing that the newest Mega Campaign is very close to publication.

Watch for a promo page on the Matrix site announcing the Mega Campaign and its theme.

I will say that this one is one you definitely don't want to miss. Literally thousands of man hours from almost 30 team members have produced a top of the line product. These guys have given their all to make this the best Mega Campaign you've ever seen!

While I can't say a lot at this point, I will say that this Mega-Campaign involves Western Europe and will have a different approach.

You will have four choices when you start the game. These choices are based on units inside the main unit. You can play completely through one thread, beginning to end. You can then start over, choose a new unit and play it again without repeating a single battle.

There are not as many alternate scenarios in this one, as most of those are never played anyway. Even so, a total of 1030 scenarios, hundreds of articles and pictures will give you many, many hours of playing time.

The battles are balanced and fast moving. Rarely (unless you so choose) will you be faced with a long hard fight that takes days to complete.

Scenarios vary in size from quite small to huge and often you'll have the choice as to which you prefer.

Every type of situation is included, almost all of them based on historical battles. There are a few hypothetical ones, but by and large you will get the feel of what this sterling unit faced as it fought across Western Europe until V-E Day.

So get ready. Its very close. Get ready for some hard fighting.

A major 'woohoo!' for this good news, WB! Many thanks to you and all the people who are making this new MC possible. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Matrix rules! :)

Btw, WB, I've been very excited about the new MC ever since you announced it. I haven't been posting q's about it, as I didn't want to seem pushy, now that I know what all goes into putting one together from previous posts. Creativity doesn't respond well to pressure. :)

Thanks Prof! Glad you hung in there. Actually, its been done in record time. Less than three months and we are at the portal of completion. Amazing when you think of the well tested 130 scenarios (more than one a day), some 500 articles and pictures and the compiling of it all.

But its close, and I appreciate your support!

As to compatibility, Jamminji, you could play it with 7.1, but you'd get soime blank spots on the maps and an occasional weird graphic for a unit.

The entire MC has been done in version 8.0 with all the new graphics...and they are spectacular, a welcome addition. You'll definitely want 8.0. It plays very smoothly and I've yet to have a crash with any of these new files after hundreds of hours of design, testing and play.

Version 8.0

Excuse me Gents, but I was off the forum for some time and when returning I saw something about SP:WAW ver. 8.0. This is something very new for me.

Is this version ready? Where can I find it?

No, not ready yet.
Better: ready, but not released yet.
It will probably come out with the new MC, I bet.
