Request: Cancel build orders

Warplan is a World War 2 simulation engine. It is a balance of realism and playability incorporating the best from 50 years of World War 2 board wargaming.

Request: Cancel build orders

Post by Culthrasa »

Hey all,

First up, really enjoying myself with warplan. One QoL i'd like to see is the ability to cancel a build order in the turn it is given.
The build screen isn't always intuitive and quite prone to a missclick. I see no reason a build order could not be undone in the turn it is given...

Cheers in advance!

Yes, this is a problem I keep running into because when one goes to build new units or other items it defaults to the German. So one could be thinking that they're building something for Italy or Hungary say, when you all of a sudden realize you have exhausted the German production stockpile by accident.
Or if you're checking out the Italian (already built) 'ready to deploy' queue and then switch to 'production,' you're no longer in Italy, you're in Germany.
Yes, so a same turn 'cancel' option would be much appreciated.

Yes, add me to this list. Have no count of the number I have bought HQs or Transports by mistake.

Yes, I'm quite young – not even 60 yet. [:)]

Problem is that my brain is wired to think that if I choose a country and build some Paras, say, and then move on to the next country, clicking "build" will in my mind give that country paras as well. But, alas, it has re-set to HQs (or transports, that's the other killer). No big deal, and I learn a lot of new curses as a bonus, but a canceling possibility would still be nice.

It's added. But you all better buy my Pacific game for this feature.

Actually, let me add to this ..... would be nice to either
- cancel an order outright
- suspend an order, freezing it where it was at perhaps to later be turned on ...
- convert an order .... lord knows there were several examples where a cruiser or BB was converted to a CVL during the war ...

Don't mean to add to your pile AL, merely would like if you're looking into it, go ahead and consider the impact of providing alternate options ....
