Game fails on loading a turn

Dear Technical support.

I have WITP AE loaded on my computer for more than 10 years. Never had any problems.
I am on windows 8.1

I have an installation also of focus Pacific no problem
I have an installation of RA, BUT

When I go to load a game turn I get the following error message as per picture. The game itself loads fine.

I have done all the virus scans and also removed all files from the computer nothing seems to work. I have also updated the graphics software and so want nothing works. Can you help with this problem?

What version of WITP-AE are you running? The "last official patch" brought it to .1125a . I don't know if that would be compatible with RA.
Where did you download the RA patch from? There should be a "read me" file that tells you what it needs to run. For example, I know that DBB requires the extended map be downloaded and installed as well as the DBB patch (which IIRC, requires you install the base game from Matrix and patch with the DBB version.)

If you can't figure it out, try contacting the creators of RA by PM or e-mail if their info is available.

I have been running the same version at latest patch for infinity - no problems with RA for years and years. It started as we hade been playing several turns. I have no idea what is wrong and never had this problem ever and I have had WITP on my PC since it came out . I wil post on the RA forum as well. Thanks

If it was running before and you did not change any software, you might be getting faulty sectors on your hard disk. Do a disk check and repair from the Control Panel, then reinstall the game.

Thanks for the help - nothing worked - even suggestions from around 5 people. re installed the mod and its working - I have no idea what was wrong.
