26.1.4 Ground Element Type and Combat Values

Post by Darojax »

Hello!

Was reading 26.1.4 in the manual and I am not sure what to make of this.

According to this table a heavy tank has a minimum CV of 9(?), and a support squad 1. If I check the 504th Panzer Battalion it has 37 operational Tiger tanks which would amount to 9 x 37 = 333 CV and the 25 support squads 1 x 25 = 25, for a total of 333 + 25 = 358 CV, so 3.58 ? But the unit detail window shows 2.85, a number that was even lower in the past due to lower experience.

I am assuming I am not interpetating the 26.1.4 section correctly, could anyone please explain to me what this section in the manual means?

Thanks!

You have to multiply by the experience/100 and morale/100. Given the potential for round offs, it comes out about right.

Right, thanks, that's quite educative. But so does that mean all types of f.ex. tanks with CV 9 are just as good, regardless of what model and version? I mean surely the CV of a Sherman and a Tiger tank cannot be the same?

Also wondering, if the ammo level of the unit is at 80% of requirement, do you multiple again with 80/100 ?

Yes, CV values are somewhat abstract, and only matter for determining final odds and retreat/advance. The fighting that goes on uses all the full stats (so a Tiger is going to kill/disrupt a lot more enemy than a PzII, and take much lower losses. It is only what's left ready and undisrupted that counts towards the final odds.
