Feel free to laugh at me but I'm spending today trying to learn how to sew from my mother so that I can make us some homemade surgical masks to wear. I found instructions on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqlmDf6 ... e=emb_logo

Of course, the lady in the video is confused about how to use the masks, you don't turn them around to use the other side, that's not why you use two different distinct patterns or colors. But I guess everything else about the video is OK, as far as how to make the masks.

You could get some ladies undergarments, cut them up, attach some straps for around the head, and enjoy. Just make sure that you get the right size cups . . .

LOL! I know, right? They sort of look similar. I'll post a pic of my first completed one in a little while. [:D]

Another observation (it's something I do )

The young guys at my work have stopped getting haircuts (or delaying them)

Their hair is usually well looked after and kept very tight as is the fashion (unlike my '90s generation [:o])

I have started calling this new men's hairstyle "The Corona"

And now that I've noticed it I'm seeing it everywhere! Look out for the new fashion (and sorry to the barbers who would now be struggling..)

Just stopped by to share a link with all you gamers; an interview with a recently retired USMC General now managing a wholesale grocery distributor - now an “essential” task of course:

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/ar ... an/608626/

Me? I plant trees for a living so I just moved out onto camping on a planting site for ten days or so. I somewhat doubt the seedling nurseries will still be able to supply my next job, though for now they are keeping ops going under the ‘Agriculture’ flag though no food production is involved. Though I often work alone on remote jobsites, I also expect there will be stronger travel restrictions by the time I need to move on. As temps warm, planting results decline, and a serious enemy always appears and declares war on my efforts: bugs. Not looking forward to virus impacts giving them a leg up on me.

I need a haircut, but am letting it go. And my hair when long is glorious. I need to start blowdrying it again, though.

Salute going out to all the schmucks out there (you know who you are), that are doing those little things that make a difference. Like going to a buddy's place who has no one just so their buddy ain't doing this event alone. Picking up something at the store for someone who for a dozen possible reasons might not be able to do it. To just smiling and being friendly to those out there in essential work, because all too often, they have to deal with people who ain't smiling or being friendly.

We all know we have to be appreciative for the obvious people, but try to recognize the efforts of those who are making this hassle, less of a burden.

Does giving the neighbor's 2 year old boy and his 8 year old sister chocolate count? [:D]

How about giving a few rolls of toilet paper to a friend in need?

This time of year the Dogwood trees bloom with white flowers. If you don't have these trees in your state or country, here is what they look like. It's quite pretty and some even bloom pink. Then when they are ready they drop the flowers to the ground, creating a surreal carpet of fluffy petals. If it gets windy enough we are treated to a beautiful swirling petal storm!
