You have to build them. And, once done, the stock should be in the Deployment window.

But, this is only needed for few cases. In most cases, you can move your air units easily.

Thanks, just getting into the game, mind a few more questions?

First off, the map of Norway is weird. Will I have to invade Norway manually as Germany or is there an event?

Indeed, there is no event in Warplan compared to SC3. You have to invade but you will see this is perfectly feasible.

I figured out how to merge, have to hold ALT while hovering over the smaller unit, then move cursor.
(and not press ALT after having moved the cursor)

Cool, beware of the advancement level of units when you are merging them. For example, merging a small infantry corps with Assault 1940 and an infantry division with Assault 1939 and you will get a large infantry corps with Assault 1939...
